With all these Taiwanese dramas that I'm watching and all, I think I'm turning...cheena.
Sorry, I know the term is very mean and derogatory, but if you knew me growing up, I never was interested in Chinese/Asian music and it seems so out of character for me. T_T
Do you truly know how I got into Korean music?
Betcha don't really know right?
Well. It all started with Boys Over Flowers. A drama. And being "crazy" over it.
Bet those who know me will be going like, "Wasn't it Big Bang and TOP?"
Well, yes, they were the biggest reason why I liked Kpop. BUT, the reason I even bothered listening to Kpop was because of the songs in BOF.
I think I've established enough how I love music, right? Well, for a song with a nice melody and tune, if I hear it enough, I will want to find it and listen to it again. Want to guess which Boys Over Flowers song I loved the most and caused me to search it up online? kekeke. I'll put the video of the song at the end of this post. (Try to guess before scrolling down!!)

Anyway, at this point in time, I'm following 3 dramas:
醉后决定爱上你 (officially) "Love You" (unofficially) "Drunken To Love You" (direct translation) "Choosing To Love You After Getting Drunk"
I've mentioned the first one before and well, this is the drama that is causing this change. Now, don't get me wrong, because I still love my Korean music, as how I still love American/English music, but it can only go down from here. T_T As I told you my backstory about how I fell into Korean music (which was completely unplanned when I thought about this blog post initially), this will probably be how I start falling into Chinese music as well. T_T
Okay, I mean, that drama is not the sole factor in this mess! It started with opening my mind to Asian music. ('Cause after liking Korean music, I was able to bring myself to admit that I actually did like "童话", when I'd previously said that I didn't know ANY Chinese music - I sound very lame and elitist, right? SIGH.) Then, that was built upon with me going to China, probably, where I listened to Chinese music there.
And then these dramas. Fine, 醉后决定爱上你 is not the first Chinese drama that caused me to look for OST songs - it was Van Ness Wu's "下一站, 幸福" - but it was only one song. (Just like how BOF wasn't the first Korean thing that caused me to look for a Korean OST song...ooh, new backstory. Sorry too lazy to talk about it now. It's 4am, hello?) But, I like quite a few songs from 醉后决定爱上你's OST that I'm thinking of...buying the album. IT CAN ONLY GO DOWN FROM HERE. T_T
ANYWAY. The video below is my favourite song from the drama. I LOVE the tune used for the chorus. LOVE IT. It's so nice!! The last chorus is the BEST. It starts from 4:33. The starting of the song doesn't really interest me, which is, oh well. The song has a very strong chorus, but I feel that the verse falls short a bit. :( If the melody of the verse & pre-chorus was catchier, I would love the song more! I still recommend a listen!
Oh and my other pet peeve with this song is the way the artist pronounces some of his words. (It's not just this song - the other song he contributed to this drama has him pronouncing "谢谢" (thank you) in what I call as the world's most messed up manner. Don't hate on me, 'cause this is just my opinion! I like people to pronounce words correctly, whether it's English or Chinese, so when I pronounce a word incorrectly/funnily, I get irked by myself, 'kay!)
