If your goal is to be like someone who's a great [dancer], sure, that's fine. But don't forget that your ultimate goal is to become like Jesus. And that's the best person to emulate.
NOT exactly what they said, but something to that extent (memory... failing... me...) (Also, I put that square bracket there, because not everyone wants to be a dancer, so you can put your occupation of choice in there & it'll fit, yeah? :D)
Inspired by David Horvath:
"Last SDCC (San Diego Comic Convention) the LA Times asked me if I've ever failed. I told them the only true failure is not starting, so no." (Off Google+)
'Nuff said. The capitalised words speak loudly enough for themselves. (On a side note, I'm glad I'm on Google+, 'cause David's so active there! Happy~)
Inspired by Brooke Fraser:
When she started singing, I started having goosebumps up my back. Halfway through, I started crying. I don't know why. Maybe it was something related to ZJ? I dunno. But I just felt inspired.
--------------------------------
Kel (from one50 dance) said that if we have a dream in our heart, especially if it's a dream that's from God (those types stick around for a while), we shouldn't ignore it or put it aside, no matter how silly it seems. She said to keep submitting it to Him daily and He will do whatever He needs to do.
During the whole session, every time they talked about reaching for their/your dreams, I just kept thinking about mine. I felt like God was reassuring me (like He wanted me to hear those words), but I'm still so confused and I still don't know whether it's just some silly whim I want, or something He has planned for me.
Why is my dream so specific? Am I crazy? Am I greedy? It's impossible, right? :S
Anyway, I came home from the one50 workshop and told myself that I wanted to change my desktop background. (Even though I'd just broken the casing of my tablet pc by banging on it one too many times. I'm not lying, dude, my anger issues have reached a new level with this tablet. There is a crack next to the mousepad area) I had this sudden urge to draw a ballerina (yes, I always create my own desktop backgrounds & I often do drawings) and include the words you see in the picture below.
And then I felt like uploading the picture here. I dunno. I don't usually show people (upload) my backgrounds (online) since I believe that nobody would be interested in them.
Anyway, it's about just.. you know, not stopping, to keep moving till you get there, to your goal.
Beyonce, in her Year Of 4 video, said something that resonated with me, that I agree with wholeheartedly:
"There was nothing that could stop them from dancing. And I love to surround myself with that type of energy. It's just, that's the reason why you perform."
It was about the Tofo Tofo guys, whose style of dancing she really liked. And in the video, when you see them walking down the streets of America (they come from Africa), they're dancing and just doing their thing, and I identified with that. It's kinda like me at home, where I just suddenly unconsciously start dancing as I'm walking around the house. (Oops, that was supposed to be a secret. Ah, pretend you didn't read that ;P) And when Beyonce said that, I was like, "Yeah, why stop performing/dancing when you can do it all the time?"
