quickie quick quick
Okay I know I haven't been updating this place. I also haven't answered the emails that need to be answered. And there's been quite some stuff going on in the daily life.
Such as the fact that the photos from the photoshoot that I went to that one fateful Saturday have been posted online now. I got the magazine a coupl'a weeks back and had meant to scan in the picture(s) but had forgotten to. Anyway, the picture's online now, so it makes my life easier. In that sense. Because I look fatter & darker online. Seriously. I am not overreacting (ok I am fine). Basically, I feel like a retard everytime I see those pictures because:
1. I look like I have a problem with my right eye, what with it being covered up and all in BOTH of the pictures 2. My poses? SERIOUSLY. MESSED. UP. I look SO weird, that I think I am convinced that I REALLY CANNOT MAKE IT as a model. REALLY. Ugh.
Remind me again WHY I decided to take that (stupidly) courageous move to join the contest? WHY? All for the sake of having the chance to go for a photoshoot. ARGH, ANGELINE, REMEMBER UGLY + FAT = NO GOOD FOR MODELLING. WHY OH WHY? Now everyone who is interested in the Comic Con will be able to see my (very) ugly picturez and laugh at me. :( Boohoo. Iyn yi says that I have a chance to win because I look good (uh), while Dawn says that I have chance to win because I don't act cute like the rest.
UM. OKAY. Being the youngest there, and the ugliest (obviously), I have this amount of chance to win -> 0.000001 (estimate, out of 1) As compared to the rest -> 0.1999998 (out of 1 - I calculated okay) There are 6 people, so I minued off my chances and divided the rest by 5. Using a calculator.
Anyway, after talking so much rubbish, and hopefully, making sure that the image is not in the main view when you first click C, here is the result of that photoshoot. I THOUGHT I blogged about it, but I guess I didn't, so oh well, because I don't wanna rack my mind to blog about something that happened on 20 June (too lazy yeah, but honestly, the memory is still very fresh in my mind)
SEE? F-A-T-F-A-C-E. Image credit: Playworks Contest Online You can go to the website to see the rest and also to find out more about that competition whilst you are there. The latter is not recommended, but the former is, because it'll prove my point HOKAY.
Bleh.
Anyway, reason this blog is so dead dead dead is because I have been hit by the next crest of the K-wave (hallyu) - the K-pop Kraze. YEAP. How it happened? That one I'll leave to the next post (when I have the time - I PROMISE) Anyway, just to summarise it into two pictures (because I need 2), it's because of :
I've been meaning to post this in a while, but I just kept forgetting to. It's pictures like these that really inspire me to WANT TO GO BRUSH UP ON THOSE SEWING SKILLS. Wouldn't it be cool if I could make my own bag/clothes. :/ I mean, MILO VENTIMIGLIA CAN USE A SEWING MACHINE. :O I mean, I've read that he can cook, so that's alright; but seeing that he can sew TOO?
JAW DROP :O
Cooking + sewing + vegetarian (ok, no this doesn't really count in my books because I need my meat) + for the environment + really cute = WHOA
Can Milo be even better than this? Yes, if he stops swearing. Totally can't stand guys who swear.
TOTALLY INSPIRATIONAL. I'm such a bad excuse of a girl. tsk. I suck at using sewing machines! I always lose control of the cloth. Haha, another thing to add to my list of "Things to do during my December hols" - Using a sewing machine for good things.
This classic accessory has a rugged look and a time-tested design. Each bag was crafted by Milo Ventimiglia to assure quality.
"
W-H-O-A. 75 bucks for a bag CRAFTED BY MILO VENTIMIGLIA. Wow. That's cool stuff. Plus there's the DSC logo. WHOA. Plus it's crafted by Milo Ventimiglia. Oh wait, did I say that already?
I'm so glad that I don't live in America. Because if not, I'd totally be broke buying all the cool things that they have there. Haha. Ok, dinner timeee!
Milo!♥ (not the drink kay)

this week in not so summary
Hello hello! I’m back again! Haha, as if I got nothing better to do! Anyway, I’ve been feeling bloggy! Hehe, so I must blog! Plus, I recently (after a seriously long time of not checking/caring about my blog) checked Nuffnang & my blog stats have dropped loads, plus I’m earning money really really slowly, so I have decided that I must blog often! This week we got back some of our results. Some people got back more, but I only got back 3 out of 6 papers, which is honestly fine by me, because I always like things spread out.
I REALLY think that some teachers are superhuman, especially those that have to mark ESSAYS. Take for example, my Chinese teacher. She marked both our Paper 1 and Paper 2 scripts in SIX DAYS, assuming she used the rest of day that we did the exam paper. I mean, we did Chinese on Friday, which was the last day of exams for me, and we got back those papers on Thursday! Ours, being one of her THREE classes (maybe she has more, but I only know that she teaches us TAs, 10/09 - Tate’s class and 30/09 - Angeline's class but Angeline doesn’t take). That’s about seventy-five scripts you know! Okay, around there, maybe less, but STILL. I really take my hat off for teachers, man.
Anyway, as for my results so far, I’m really thankful to God for every single mark that I’ve gotten, whether or not it’s a pass or fail, because I really didn’t put in enough effort this time round again. Yes, I AM terribly disgusted with myself for wasting time surfing the net and watching the oh-so-addictive Boys Over Flowers and I REALLY need to buck up next time, but I’m really very thankful to God, like seriously. Sigh. I need to stop this horribly horrible habit. It’s really hopeless you know, seeing myself waste time just like that, whether it be zoning out into Angeline Land or surfing the net aimlessly or listening to the radio when it’s meant to be background music. I hate that I always lack the motivation to get down and start studying until the VERY LAST MINUTE which is either three, two or even ONE day before the exam.
The exam period is a terrible period of my life every year, because I always have to end up doing last minute work and I’m always so hm, stressed then? It’s like, my last hope to cram in anything into my stupid brain before I get screwed up in the exam. This year was really sick. Like, REALLY BAD. It was all a snowball effect from Sunday. I’d wanted to study Geog in the afternoon, but then I fell asleep and only woke up at 6ish/7. Because I had stupidly only touched the first few chapters prior to that day, I ended up studying through the night till the next day. That’s right, without a wink of sleep. Thank goodness I only had one paper that day & that we didn’t have to stay back for the AYG event, so I got to come home and sleep. And sleep I did, until 5pm. That’s right, I slept from 11-5, without even waking up for lunch. C-R-A-Z-Y. Then, I slacked the rest of the day, for some reason that I have forgotten. :/
Anyway, this carried on for my other exams, slogging through the night to study for each subject, from Computing to Maths to Chemistry. I’m very thankful that my exams were arranged such that I would have one test to study for after a day with two tests. I.E. Geog only on Monday, Tuesday was a break, GP & Computing on Wednesday, Maths on Thursday, Chinese & Chem on Friday. I’m grateful it’s not like, two exams after a two exam day. That would suck.
Also, it’s like, my content-heavy subjects are not clumped together. Geog, Computing, Maths & Chemistry - these subjects really require me to really put in the extra effort. For Chinese, I did a 3-hour session with my tutor, so that kinda covered me. GP, well it’s a matter of reading up & practising essays/compres, but I’m into doing the latter, so eh, yeah. I read my Broader Perspectives & TIMES magazines before the exam kay, so I did put in some effort ish. YES I KNOW, MUST PUT IN MORE EFFORT FOR EVERYTHING LUH. I really don’t want to mess up promos because it’s really important to get into the swing of things/studying before I REALLY end up messing up my ‘A’ Levels. :/ :(
OKAY ENOUGH RUBBISH ABOUT EXAMS. ON TO HAPPIER THINGS. Yesterday, we had Leaders Training followed by Girls Fellowship (as I call it haha) at Dawn-o’s house! Haha. Both sessions were good because they did get me thinking about putting my life back in order and really, truly living my life with God as my number one priority, so that was good stuff! :) It’s true that I’ve been confused about studies and God, but like now I think that I’ve got a clearer idea of what I need to do. :) Anyway, after we’d finished the discussion session, we had dinner together & played games! Whoot whoot!
***[The silly camera is acting up & the SD card refuses to be read on my computer, so when I do fix the problem, I'll upload them pictures]Uploaded!More camera issues :/ But I got some pics up! A-OKAY! All in!
Too bad the session finished pretty late, because we only got to play one round of each game that was there before we left. :( Julie brought her SUPER DUPER COOL Uglydolls game! Loads and loads of good fun! Amanda, Marianne, Angeline, Julie, Annabelle & I played this game! Marianne won with 16 Uglydolls! Haha, she’s got a good eye! I specially brought OX, because I knew it would be a great photo opportunity! Haha! Pictures! (I've just realised that the quality isn't that good. Bah Humbug. Lousy Nikon cameraz)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strategy Game Girls: (below, from L-R) Julie Annabelle Angeline Angeline
Then, we played The Strategy Game, which Annabelle won with her having the least tiles left! This one was hard, having to fill a board with your coloured tiles and be the one with the most tiles on the board + least tiles left! The worst part Not good for idiots like me, haha! Angeline took red, Annabelle blue, Julie yellow and I got green. The result: Notice how Annabelle & Julie fully utilised the board to ensure that they got the most number of tiles on the board as possible, with as little space being wasted. Also notice how Angeline & I, being Angelines (okay just kidding) have a lot of empty spaces on our sides. We also tied with the same number of tiles left. HAHA.
After that, we took a break from the games for dinner, to which we resumed after that! I can’t remember the name of the last game we played exactly, I think it goes something like 3’s a crime or 3 of a crime, but I know it has "3" and "crime" in it. Haha. Anyway, one person would take a card and there would be 3 suspects on it, this would be the witness card (if I didn’t remember wrongly). Then, we’d go around flipping over the other cards. The person with the witness card would put the number of suspects from the witness card there were on the cards we flipped over and we would have to guess who the 3 suspects on the witness card were. I didn’t take any pictures of this game, but I should’ve, cos the criminals all looked really funny and had really funny names!
^Girl's Fellowship Girls! (missing: Marianne left early)
Dunno what Dawn is doing... Acting shy? ;D
Yeah, anyway, I went rushed home after that to watch BOF! Then typed out the BOF post and went to sleep haha.
Tuesday! I watched Ice Age 3 in 3D with my mum on Tuesday!
Yeah, ugly picture of me. Meh. My mum's not too good with the handphone camera I suppose. :/ Anyway, the glasses that they gave weren't flimsy cellophane ones! :( So we didn't get to take any home! Boohoo :( They were real glasses with real lenses, one red, one blue, as you can see from the picture above! ;)
Ice Age 3 was a good movie. :D AND how does Angeline define a good movie? It must have a good storyline, a good ending AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, it MUST make you cry. WHICH Ice Age 3 did (unlike that stupid Bolt with Miley Cyrus) - it fulfilled all 3 criteria, so it was a very good movie. Even my mother said that it was good, this coming from her who previously said "Huh? A sequel, um, aren't sequels not as good as the original thing?" HAHA PROVED YOU WRONG MUM. :d I don't think I watched Ice Age, but I did watch Ice Age 3, so I caught on with most of the story. :) I'm currently too lazy to type out the entire storyline because it IS a 94min long movie and YOU KNOW what a long-winded mess I am. HAHA. But I might do it (highly unlikely ho ho ho)
We initially wanted to go check out Tampines 1 before/after the film started, but then because we set off late, we didn't have time to check it out before the show. Also, after watching Ice Age 3, we had dinner before dropping by Precious Moments, where we spent the rest of our time in Tampines at. Hence, no time left for Tampines 1 cuz we couldn't go back too late as I had school the next day! Anyway, we ended up spending some a lot of money at Precious Moments(PM). Haha, totally unexpected and once again breaking my promise to myself that I would not shop until Comic Con. (The first one was buying the Lady Gaga ticket) At least this one is not really for me, it was more for the house. We ended up buying a ticket to this PM event in September where we get to meet Sam (the creator of PM) and more. ON TOP OF THAT, we also bought 3 PM Disney figurines, of Cinderella, Snow White and Tigger (cutest!) One of these days I'll go take a picture of em! :) So much money spent! I shiver at the thought! :/
And Friday! I’d finished school "early" (at 3.50) as compared to the other days this week. Thursday was the usual 5.30 and Wednesday we had this Photoshop crash-course, where I totally "wasted" time there because I’d learnt most of what the guy had taught us already. Anyway, it was fun because I was able to play with Photoshop after not touching it in a long time! Was good, good fun! The result: OKAY I know it’s not that fantastic. But, I like it okay. I shortened it to just the 4 of em (Pinkie Pie, Puglee, Moxy & Abby Cadabby) and am using it for my msn display picture! Because they are my favourite things! I ♥ My Little Pony, Uglydolls & Abby Cadabby!
BACK TO FRIDAY. Since I had time, I decided to take out the father’s newest toy - a Nikon D90. -.- As if he has the time to take pictures. This is for his retirement I suppose. :/ Anyway, I GET TO BENEFIT GREATLY FROM IT! WOOHOO. Of course, the natural thing would be to take pictures of my Uglydolls! It was so much fun hokay! They're such cute pictures that I shall post em here! You can find more pictures of my Uglies on my Flickr photostream! Oh & before I get into the Uglydoll pictures, my friends! A preview of my room HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yes I know my fringe veh messy. But that view-hole is so puny.
Taken in the mirror of my wardrobes
Haha, whacha think? Unfortunately, I hadn't packed in my newly-washed clothes, so eh, I had to black out that part. I don't need you guys to see the weird things I wear at home. Sigh, had to ruin a perfectly good shot. If you enlarge the picture, you can see that my arms are very clear! Ahhh, the wonders of good cameras.
Out! ♥

流星花园,花样男子
(Typed offline last night) Saturday, July 11 2009, 11:14PM Ahhhh, now feels like a jolly good time to blog about my favourite Korean drama of the moment, since I've just watched it! SMILEY SMILEY FACE! :) If you've been talking to me recently, you should know xD It's THE drama that everyone a lot of people are talking about! AAAAAND it's....
BOYS OVER FLOWERS!!!! OR in Chinese 流星花园, 花样男子 OR in Korean 꽃보다 남자
HAHA.
It's like, THE coolest show ever, with loads of laughter, funny scenes, captivating scenes, feel good scenes, sweet scenes that make you go "awww", a storyline that keeps you coming back for more and most importantly, lots and lots and lots of sad scenes with NON-STOP CRYING ACTION. (also loving acronym-ed by me as "NoSCA") Woo hoo!
LOVE LOVE IT. As per all Korean shows, my mother is the one who started me onto it by watching it first. Then, I start watching it and I get hooked and can’t stop watching it!!! It was like, I started watching from episode 3 on Channel U, then episode 4, but then I couldn’t understand what was going on, so I decided to watch it on youtube. After that, because it just TOO CAPTIVATING TO STOP WATCHING, I continued on. All this while I was in the midst of my June holidays, allegedly supposed to be studying. -.- Clever eh? Anyway, I’m not the type that can sit in front of a computer screen and watch 25 1-hour-long episodes at one go in 2-3 days, so at the moment, I’m at episode 25. Yes, the last one already; and I’m procrastinating because I want to savour it bit by bit and make it last. Yum.
Okay, so everyone has a favourite in the show rrrrright! :D Mine is Gu Jun Pyo! His real name in Korean is Lee Min Ho! Oooooh~ Image Source: Han Cinema At first, I liked Kim Beom, who plays So Ihjeong in the show. BUT THEN, the more I looked at Jun Pyo/Min Ho’s SUPERBLY HIGH cheekbones and ULTRA SHARP nose (coughmaybeplasticsurgerycough), the more I was fascinated by it AND SO, I ended up liking Gu Jun Pyo/Lee Min Ho. ANYWAY, all the 4 boys look pretty good, maybe except Kim Jun/Sung Woo Bin who looks pretty ugly from some angles has some angles that don’t make him look good, so yeah :D
Anyway, the show is so good to watch! I love, love, love, love, love watching it! Geum Jan Di is such a good character! And they’re ALL good actors and actresses! But the only sad thing is that once you’ve watched it, you can’t really seem to cry when you watch the same scene again. :( Oh well, we haven’t got to the Macau part on Channel U yet, so I have yet to see how it’ll turn out! That’s probably around episode 12, 13ish to about 16, 17ish, which were the episodes that I cried the most. Also, episode 24 (which I recently watched because I banned myself from watching BOF during the last few days before the JCTs and so was only able to watch it after the exams) is also a really good NoSCA episode.
There’s ALSO another I absolutely adore about the show! Yes, I know the music rocks, but I’ll talk about that in a minute. I love that they use UGLYDOLLS on the show but accessorising Jan Di with em! I mean of course I realise it’s completely silly and totally out of place on a supposedly very poor girl (and of course she has to wear Doc Martens too - in black AND white), but it looks so cool! I would never pin my Uglies to my clothes and cut off their keyrings, but it gave me inspiration on what to wear for Comic Con! Yay. Anyway, pictures! (in order of appearance-ish) Ugly ghost! Uglyworm! Gato Deluxe! Image Source for the 3: David Horvath’s Flickr
And of course, Wage on back pack! (appeared between Uglyworm and Gato Deluxe, but David Horvath didn't have the image on his Flickr haha, so I did a screen shot on the Youtube video, HENCE the pathetic quality)
Super duper cool! How many Korean shows use Uglydolls in them? HM? Haha. BOF is the BEST!
And now, for the music!!! Wow, I really enjoy listening to their soundtrack! It’s really, really good stuff! From the happier and more upbeat songs, to the sadder and soothing melodies, they are ALL GREAT. Okay, so I don’t know what they are saying most of the time, but the tunes are great! My all-time favourite two songs are "내 머리가 나빠서 (Because I'm Stupid)" by SS501 and "나쁜 마음을 먹게해 (Ballad Ver.)" by T-MAX. "Lucky" by Ashily is also really sweet to listen to, because they always play it when Jan Di is sad, but I still prefer the said two songs! Initially, I was thinking to myself that I would buy the soundtrack because I seriously love listening to those songs (and this is rare because I usually only listen to English songs), but then I realised that they released like, so many soundtracks for the show!
Boys Over Flowers Singapore says that there are a grand total of 6 soundtrack albums! I bet that they’re all NOT CHEAP. I wanted to go check out what were the price ranges for the albums and this one website that I went to said that the Part 1 costs US$19.44 or something like that. Expensive much? :( Can you imagine getting all? Oh boy. As if I weren’t on a tight budget this year. -_- Just for the fun of it, I decided to put all the albums into a photo collage!
Hence, for the moment, to allow me to be able to listen to the songs, I have created a playlist on imeem, as I always love doing! Haha, whoot! And for the benefit of all who have a strong need to listen to GREAT KOREAN SONGS M-HM, here’s my playlist, arranged in order of the way they come out on each album and also in order of album release. Yes, I have some songs missing, such as Paradise by T-MAX as one example, but that is only because the annoying record label has declared that only 30-second samples can be played on imeem. Pfft. Cheapskates. Anyway, playlist! Listen away friends, because these are nice on the ears. :)
Launched at the Comic Con - How cool is that? We'll be the first people in the world to get these super cool things! I'm totally saving a space for one of em on my phone, next to my Singtel AMPed lanyard! Woo-oo-woo-oo!
Okay, so this news was from June 21st, BUT I forgot to post it here! Whoops! I want to get all, but I don't know if my $200 budget for Comic Con can cover it! (Cos I WILL be getting the full set of Uglydoll Action Figures - sure to hit the 100s! Plus if I am fast enough, one GID Icebat!) I'm super duper sad that they don't have Moxy! :( She's my favourite! Too cute.
Anyway, so I'm supposed to blog about more of what happened in the holidays, 但 是 我 现 在 必 须 练 习 讲 华 语! So, I've got to go! :/
But, before I go, here's a picture of our SYF! I'm in there. Like to the far right! Haha, lousy. 'A' Level Chinese Oral! ARGH!
再见! ♥

end of the hiatus
Hello hello hello! I'm back to blogging since JCT 2009 is over. I'm definitely glad that it's over, but boy, I really don't want to think too much about the results. I don't want to think about what I'm going to get, because I know that it'll only cause me to not trust God about it. I'm just going to keep praying, cos that's all I can do about it anyway.
Okay, so anyway, exams aside, life has been really exciting. SERIOUSLY. WHICH is also why I was too lazy to get started on my studies. So let's seeeee, where shall I start? There's so many things that I want to talk about, but I have no pictures for all. This is all my fault for (1) not bringing/forgetting to bring my camera out and (2) being lazy to ask my friends for picturez. Sigh.
Okay, hm, I'll just starting with the ...
Lady Gaga showcase!
HAHA I HAVE LOADS TO TALK ABOUT THIS. So anyway, this showcase was extremely exclusive and you had absolutely no chance to buy tickets, with the only way to watch it is to win tickets! I had 2 ways - through the 98.7FM competitions and the Singtel AMPed website (the last way is to buy certain phones with a phone plan or something like that, so clearly that was out of the question) Initially, I thought that I'd be able to win tickets via the website, but apparently Singtel was being mean and wasn't sending out those invites to the website, which completely cut off that chance to win via that way. (They did send those darned emails in the end, but only at 4am of the closing day -.-)
So, the next best option was to try on radio! So, by the time I started trying to win tickets, I only had it 3 shows to win from. AM Mayhem (5-10am is too early for a late riser like me), Shan & Rozz & the Muttons to Midnight.
Yeah, so everyday, I'd try to win the tickets, listen to the radio, take part in the competition. But for S&R's show, I guess my message sending skills are too slow, so even if I get the answer correct, I would never win. S&R's show had the easiest way to win, which is count the number of times "gaga" is played in two songs.
Initially, the Muttons had some quiz thing where you're supposed to be the first to call in, answer 3 out of 4 primary school questions and you'd win. This was impossibly hard because every time I tried calling in, the line would always be engaged. BUT THANKFULLY, they switched it to a send-sms-to-take-part contest. I remember they started it on the 10th of June (wednesday), where they'd play a quote from Lady Gaga, blanking out one word and we'd have to send in the correct blanked out word. Wednesday's quote went like this "I used to put on _____ in the corner of bars".
Initially, I didn't know what it was, but while they were reading out other people's entries and when one of them mentioned that "Eyeshadow is not correct, but the answer is found in that area" (or something to that extent) and I remembered that she'd mentioned this in one of those Lady Gaga videos that I'd watched, the answer being (false) eyelashes. Unfortunately, someone'd already got the answer correct before me, so obviously I didn't win it then.
Then, on thursday, after YET ANOTHER failed attempt at S&R's contest (with Angeline's help), the Muttons did the same contest again! This time the phrase was "No, my ____ don't need to be refrigerated". AND STRAIGHT AWAY, I knew the answer was WIGS because I'd read about and saw the interview! So I typed in a hurried sms of "her wigs" and sent it off, in great hope that I'd be the first. Then I typed out the entire quote and sent it again. So, after one song, the Muttons read out some of the wrong entries. I WAS FRUSTRATED, because I knew my answer was correct. I was like, WHY WEREN'T THEY CALLING ME BACK OR SOMETHING??? So I sent the same message again. (these radio people sure know how to make money)
Then, just when the next song started, and I was in the process of talking to Dawn on the phone, my mother's phone started buzzing (I couldn't use mine cos being on pre-paid, I can't send to these "72346" numbers :/), with the 987FM number in the caller-ID! Unfortunately, I had to hang up on Dawn to pick up the call! BECAUSE I AM LIKE THAT, I will post the entire conversation here. :D For memory's sake. ;D
M: Hello, 987FM! Is this Angeline? A (Breathlessly because I am superbly egg-cited): Yes, it's me! M: Sorry, is this Angeline? A (Clearly this time): Yes, it's me! M: Are you wearing pants?A (Excitedly): Did I get the answer correct? [At the same time] A: (Confused) Huh? Uhhh...yeah? No, I asked, (slowly) Is my answer correct? M (Apparently he said this but I didn't hear it in the phone call initially): WHAT MUTTON? How can you ask a question like that? (Other guy) I don't know, maybe she's trying to be Lady Gaga at home? [NO. NO, I ALWAYS WEAR PANTS NO MATTER WHAT. EVEN UNDER SKIRTS. I CANNOT NOT WEAR PANTS. Even my 4-part swimming costume has shorts too.] [I think they were saying this while I was re-asking my question] M (Now addressing my question): Well that depends. What was your answer? A: Her wigs. Her wigs don't need to be refrigerated! M: Okay, let's play the quote to see if you're correct. (after the quote) Yes, your answer is correct! Congratulations! You've just won yourself a pair of tickets to the Lady Gaga showcase![or something to that extent]
After which, I bombarded them with a truckload of "ohmygod"s (YES I KNOW I SHOULDN'T BE SAYING IT, but I was too overwhelmed) and promptly started tearing before crying. -.- YES. Crying on the phone whilst talking to radio djs. AT LEAST, they cut me off after the first "ohmygod" and played Gaga's Poker Face. (Can you imagine what people would think when they hear the Muttons asking me "Are you crying?") Note to self: LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS. I am always crying. AH BUT crying is good when you watch Korean dramas. LOVE. IT.
Here's the interview by the way. I have no idea how I found it when I was surfing Youtube at that time. Glad I found it again! Fast forward to 3:30 to hear her address the issue! ;)
Anyway, Ashley went with me to the showcase. We drew a star on our faces! Which is probably why some of the professional photographers there came up to us to ask us whether they could take a picture of us (so cool! but of course epic fail because I am not photogenic) and why we were interviewed by Razor TV. I look like a COMPLETE RETARD IN THE INTERVIEW. Plus you can only see Ashley's star cos of the direction the camera was recording in. Anyway, the two videos that we're in are HERE and HERE. PLUS, we're the screen clip for the second video! HEE HEE. You should totally not click on the links. I REALLY look like a spastic retard.
Back to the showcase. We went at 5ish. The 987FM person was supposed to set up a booth at 6pm for us to collect our tickets, but the girl only appeared at 6.30. One petite-sized girl, carrying a Mediacorp bag for the tickets, with no sign whatsoever that she is from 987FM. I'm just glad that I noticed a security personnel leading one of those fellow radio winners somewhere & I tagged along :D The showcase was supposed to start at 7:30, but they only started letting people in at 7:45. -.-
And by the time we'd gone through the Singtel AMPed showcase, the launching of the service, the emcees talking, one competition to win Gaga merchaindise (ultimate fail I promise you because only one participant really looked like a huge Gaga fan), DJ Paul T spinning some tunes (superbly deafening = I cannot go clubbing next time), the emcees talking some more, it was 8.50/9ish. AND THEN FINALLY IT BEGAN, with the screening of one of her "crevettes" (short films / clips)
She opened with Lovegame (with the dance break at the end, same as the one I watched on her Dancing with the Stars performance, but with a bit of difficulty cos of her costume), then sang Beautiful Dirty Rich (loads of fun when she asked us to "get your guns out!" and shoot along to the bridge). She went for a costume change and then came back on to sing both the accoustic and normal version of Poker Face. The acoustic version was funny, because she did what she did on Ellen, squat on the piano bench to play the keyboard, before fully standing up and bending over to play. So, it was quite the spectacle to watch :) Didn't really like the second costume cos it wasn't flattering on her, but then that's her perogative. After that she went for a last costume change, this time donning a super long wig. The costume was the yellow version of the one I saw her wear in Japan. Preeeetty cool. ;D
I'll have to say that while the performance was short, I really really enjoyed it. I didn't like the waiting though and I also didn't like those stupid security people. It's not fair you know. Why should the people who came in later than us have a better place than us? Why should they get a better view of Lady Gaga when WE came in first to get our place. They kept shoving us further away from the stage and they've all got this bad attitude. ]:( It's like, when I'd finally found a spot where I'd get a CLEAR VIEW of the stage , they'd force me to give up that choice location for people who'd come in before me ]:( NO.FAIR.
Anyway, the night didn't end too well. After Gaga's set, DJ Inquisitive went up to spin some tunes & deafen me further and some really fortunate people got picked to get to take a picture with Gaga. :( And even when Ashley & I'd waited till the VIP queue (ie people who don't really care that much about Gaga except the media people) had almost cleared, they wouldn't let us see her even for a bit. And when I'd asked the guy to help me ask her to sign my CD, he told me that he'd send a pre-signed copy to me. AND UP TILL NOW? Nothing. No email from him (right Ashley?) :/
Anyway, it was nice. Just too bad for that uptight guy who refused to budge. What happened to "Nothing matters to me most than my fans"? Pfft.
Okay, I'll save y'all the agony and talk about the rest of my life later, maybe tomorrow. I'm currently listening to my superbly cool BOYS OVER FLOWERS SOUNDTRACK playlist on imeem. Yes, I'll include it in my next post! Boys Over Flowers is like THE BEST Korean drama to date! I'm so into Korean now. So tempted to learn it. So far, I can say hello, sorry, my name is, thanks and bye. SEE HOW I WASTE MY HOLIDAYS? Tsk tsk. But it's too good to resist! Ok ok I just spent one hour plus on this blog post haha.
